The world of Warhammer Online is comprised of territories classified into one of four tiers, and then divided into sections based on the racial pairing of armies that contend for the territory. For each tier there exists a territory for each playable race in Warhammer Online. Each of these territories are located near the territory of their racial enemy. If you want some optimized leveling get this guide. For example, the Tier 1 Greenskins territory, Mount Bloodhorn, is situated near the Tier 1 Dwraf territory, Ekrund. Dwarfs are paired racially with Greenskins in Warhammer Online, and as such, their territories for each tier are positioned near each other to promote player vs player combat and territorial wars.

Unfortunately you can’t decide in which starting zone you will begin to play. Many people don’t like the lore or design of one special zone so they want to fly to another starting zone. Other people want to play with their friends so they have to change the zone to do that. Therefore you have to walk a bit to change the starting area.
