This guide is written entirely from my findings and the findings of other people I know in-game. I can't speak for others, nor will I try to do so.if you are interested in it .just look through.Hopefully the article can help you. I believe you will learn something from it.
Basic Process
The basics are very simple and easily understood. You have up to 4 planting pots, unlocked at 1, 50, 100, and 150 skill, respectively. In these pots, you plant a seed or spore (referred to hereafter synonymously as seeds) and it will begin a countdown. Each phase (soil, water, nutrients; in that order) has a timer. Before that timer expires, you can chose to add items corresponding to that phase to improve the success rate of your plant maturing well. Higher level reagents improve your success rate, but you're never guaranteed a success or failure.
There are 5 results of planting a seed: critical failure, failure, success, critical success, and special moment. Failure means you lose your plant (getting Warhammer Gold a trash 'weed' item) but still get your seed back. Critical failure means you lose both the seed and the full grown plant.
1. Seeds
As may or may not be obvious, the first step is to get Warhammer Gold a seed. To make a dye of any kind, you're going to either need to be a cultivator or buy the extracts from another player. We'll get to that later, though.
Seeds come in three varieties, at the moment. The first two are simply common (white) and uncommon (green) seeds. The third is more obscure; it's a hybrid seed. You can make hybrid seeds from a 'special moment' success (a critical critical success). More on that later.
Hybrid seeds yield the best quality ingredients and, in my experience, have more frequently yielded high quality potions.
2. Special Moments
Special moments are at the crux of getting Warhammer Gold anywhere with cultivating in general. Obviously, you want as many as you can get. It's pretty straightforward to improve your chances; slap in the highest quality ingredients you can find and use. Soil and water come from scavengers, and nutrients come from butchers.
A special moment with a common (white) seed will yield 1 or 2 of the weeds, return the seed used, and an additional one or two resins. Resins are stabilizers and are useful for apothecary recipes. The level of the stabilizer corresponds to the level of the seed.
